One week on from losing to Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga, Borussia Dortmund are back in action to meet with the third-placed Union Berlin at Signal Iduna Park in another crucial battle at the top of German football.
This past week is turning out to be the most significant in week for Dortmund this season after they were knocked out of the DFB-Pokal quarter-finals against RB Leipzig and were also defeated 4-2 by Bayern Munich.
It means BVB are down into second once more by two points and are only ahead of Union by two points too and could be in third by the end of this week.
Union Berlin were also beaten 2-0 in their midweek DFB-Pokal battle with Eintracht Frankfurt and are behind Bayern Munich at the top of the table by four points. A win here would no doubt be their biggest of the season.
Union have also already beat Dortmund this season after Janik Haberer’s brace back in October handed them all three points in the Bundesliga.
