13th and 17th in the Bundesliga will meet one another on Saturday afternoon with Augsburg set to welcome Schalke to the WWK Arena with the away side off the foot of the table for the time being at least.
It’s been a very rough season for Schalke since their promotion back to the Bundesliga, but they are coming into this one on a rare unbeaten run of seven games since their terrible 6-1 loss to RB Leipzig.
On the other hand, quite incredibly, four of these games in a row ended 0-0 with them drawing against Koln, Borussia Monchengladbach, Wolfsburg and Union Berlin.
Schalke have, however, gone on to beat Stuttgart and Bochum before a 2-2 draw at home in a local derby with rivals Borussia Dortmund to push them into 17th in the table.
Augsburg were hammered 5-3 by Bayern Munich last time out, although they did take a 1-0 lead in Munich thanks to a goal from Mergim Berisha. He scored a penalty later in the game before Irvin Cardona scored in the dying embers.
