NFL: Travis Hunter signs four-year deal worth $46.65m with Jaguars

Travis Hunter has officially signed his rookie deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars, putting pen to paper on a four-year contract worth $46.65 million.

The deal includes a fully guaranteed $30.57 million signing bonus – paid in full up front – making Hunter the first non-quarterback not taken first overall to receive such a bonus structure.

Hunter, selected second overall in the 2025 NFL Draft, was the final top-10 pick to sign his rookie deal.

Only two first-rounders remain unsigned – Shemar Stewart (No.17 to the Bengals) and Jahdae Barron (No.20 to the Broncos).

To secure Hunter, the Jaguars traded up three spots with the Cleveland Browns, parting with picks 5, 36, and 126, along with a 2026 first-rounder.

Jacksonville plans to use Hunter in a two-way role, just as he was deployed at Colorado en route to winning the 2024 Heisman Trophy.

He focused mostly on offensive reps during the summer season and mandatory minicamp but did spend at least one full session working at cornerback.

On the final day of minicamp, Hunter practised on both sides of the ball, which head coach Liam Coen said will be the blueprint heading into training camp.

The Jaguars will be hoping to see their offense boosted by the arrival of Hunter.

Many fans will be keen to see him link-up with quarterback Trevor Lawrence and make a push for the play-offs.
