Thibaut Courtois’ expected injury return date revealed ahead of October Clasico

The Belgian is set for a spell on the sidelines

An update on the wellbeing of Real Madrid star Thibaut Courtois has been provided on Sunday evening.

For those not aware, news which no doubt put a dampener on the day of all of a Blancos persuasion was forthcoming earlier today.

This came in the form of the revelation that star goalkeeper Courtois had suffered an altogether untimely injury blow.

In an announcement across their social media platforms, Real confirmed that:

‘Following tests carried out on Thibaut Courtois by the Real Madrid Medical Services, the player has been diagnosed with left sciatica. Further evolution is pending.’

Courtois, in turn, has been ruled out of the European champions’ La Liga meeting with Osasuna on Sunday evening.

Well, an insight into as much has now been provided.

The info comes courtesy of Spanish journalist Carlos Rodriguez, who points towards Courtois sitting out Real’s next ‘three or four’ fixtures.

Crucially, though, it is assured that the former Chelsea standout should be fit and available for selection for the first Clasico of the campaign, when Carlo Ancelotti’s troops welcome Barcelona to the Bernabeu two weeks from today.
