Ryan Sessegnon offered improved contract by Tottenham following upturn in form

Ryan Sessegnon has been offered a new deal following an upturn in form for Tottenham Hotspur.

Sessegnon would be signed by Tottenham in August of 2019 for around £24m.

At the time the youngster was one of the hottest prospects in English football and was expected to have a bright future in north London.

However, that proved to be far from the case as Sessegnon struggled for action under Mauricio Pochettino and Jose Mourinho before being loaned to German outfit Hoffenheim for the 2020/21 campaign.

The Englishman went on to feature 29 times for the Bundesliga side, scoring two and assisting three along the way.

Sessegnon would then return to Tottenham this past summer but once again found himself out of favour under Nuno Espirito Santo – though this was partly due to injury as well.

The full-back has featured in eight league games for Spurs under the Italian, including starting their last three matches.

In said matches, Sessegnon has largely impressed with his latest game seeing him provide an assist to fellow wing-back Matt Doherty as Tottenham steamrolled Leeds United:

Now, as mentioned above, Sessegnon has been rewarded for his fine form of late.

The Times report that Sessegnon has been offered a new contract by Tottenham after a number of improved performances under Antonio Conte.

His current deal runs until 2024 and sees him earn around £55,000-a-week. It is not known how much his new deal is worth, but it is an improved one.
