Tottenham vs Sheffield United betting tips: Premier League match preview & predictions

Tottenham vs Sheffield United 101 Great Goals’ prediction: Tottenham 2-1 Sheffield United

Tottenham Hotspur returned to winning ways on Wednesday as they took a big step towards the Champions League knockout stages.

Spurs’ new additions passed the test in Belgrade with flying colours, whilst their regular group of stars like Harry Kane and Heung-min Son also shone.

Mauricio Pochettino must now translate such form into Premier League action with his side currently languishing in the bottom half.

Hoping to take advantage of them this weekend is Sheffield United – a side who have surprised many this season.

The Blades recorded an impressive 3-0 win over Burnley last Saturday and will be full of confidence ahead of their trip to London.

Premier League preview: Tottenham vs Sheffield United

On Wednesday evening in Belgrade, a notoriously tricky place to play, Spurs made light work of Red Star.

For the first time, Tottenham’s new signings Tanguy Ndombele and Giovani Lo Celso started together.

The majority of the contract rebels were also ousted from the line-up.

Unsurprisingly, making use of their new additions and getting rid of want-a-way players brought Tottenham much success.

Lo Celso, on his full debut, really stood out on the evening with his creativity and work rate impressing the most.

Ndombele’s creativity from deep and his ability to dominate the middle of the park made Spurs tough to break down.

Son also put aside a mentally scaring game against Everton to score his 9th Champions League goal this year and become the competition’s highest goal scorer in 2019.

But, Pochettino has a real habit of rotating his line-up, which he cannot afford to do on the weekend.

The Blades defying the doubters

Tottenham found a really successful formula on Wednesday and changing it against Sheffield United could be fatal.

As they have been for most of this season, the Blades should not be underestimated.

Chris Wilder’s side were rampant against Burnley winning 3-0 with the win lifting them into 6th.

They were also very impressive in their win over Arsenal and these results should be a strong warning for Pochettino’s side.

The Blades have been the surprise side in the division and in John Lundstram, they have an FPL hero coming into this one having scored a brace against Burnley.
