Betting prediction: Chelsea 2-0 Burnley

Chelsea host Burnley at Stamford Bridge tomorrow on the back of very strong form of late, with the Blues currently on a four-match win streak while taking all three points in five of their last six Premier League outings.

Though Burnley banked their first win of the 2021-22 campaign last weekend against Brentford, and have taken at least a point in four of their last six fixtures, they are not expected to pick up anything on their travels here. Chelsea should be able to see out a comfortable result despite some selection headaches.

Chelsea vs Burnley: Recommended bets

Halftime/Full-Time Correct Score: Chelsea 1-0/Chelsea 3-0 (13/1 odds)

Despite my 2-0 prediction above, there is a massive return to be had here if you feel confident that Chelsea can bag more than just the brace against Burnley. The Clarets will be stubborn early on but if Chelsea can find a breakthrough early enough in the first half and build momentum on the back of it, they have every chance to flirt with three goals given their season average of 2.6-goals/match in the Premier League.

To Score First: Kai Havertz (15/4 odds)

Though he only has one goal in the league thus far this season, German international Kai Havertz could be good value to open the scoring here given his near-guaranteed selection through the middle in the Chelsea front three. His technical qualities and understanding of space could really become a focal point as the Blues look to pry Burnley out of their expected stubborn shape.

Chelsea vs Burnley: Match preview

Chelsea tactician in-chief Thomas Tuchel will look to make it five wins in a row for the Blues in the Premier League this weekend when Burnley travels to Stamford Bridge, and he looks good value to push his men to achieve just that against a relegation-battling Clarets outfit.

LONDON, ENGLAND – OCTOBER 23: Callum Hudson-Odoi of Chelsea celebrates with teammates (L – R) Antonio Ruediger, Ben Chilwell and Mason Mount after scoring their side’s second goal during the Premier League match between Chelsea and Norwich City at Stamford Bridge on October 23, 2021 in London, England. The Blues come into proceedings on the back of a 1-0 win against Malmö in their Champions League midweek program, and can bank on five wins in their last six league outings. They may be frustrated more than expected against Sean Dyche’s outfit, though, with both Romelu Lukaku and Mason Mount (and their six combined goals) missing from the starting XI.

As for Burnley, the summer arrival of Maxwel Cornet has been a breath of fresh air at Turf Moor as the Ivorian forward leads Burnley’s goal-scoring charts with 4 to his name in what has been a brilliant start to his next chapter after leaving Olympique Lyonnais.

With Chelsea expected to dominate proceedings when the two lock horns in west London tomorrow, the direct threat that Cornet possesses could be a real thorn in the side of the Blues should he find space behind the likes of Cesar Azpilicueta or Thiago Silva, especially if Reece James continues to be a real threat in the final third for Thomas Tuchel.

Chelsea team news vs Burnley

Thomas Tuchel will be without a number of key players as Chelsea host struggling Burnley at Stamford Bridge.

Romelu Lukaku, Timo Werner, and Mateo Kovačić are all sure to miss out until the international break, while Mason Mount is not expected to feature either due to illness.

N’Golo Kanté is likely to be available for selection, though he may not be risked against Sean Dyche’s men.

Burnley team news vs Chelsea

Sean Dyche is expected to name an unchanged XI as the Clarets look for an away day upset against Chelsea.

The only guaranteed unavailable option comes by way of Dale Stephens, while backup goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey is listed as a doubt but would not have been named ahead of Nick Pope in the XI regardless.
