Betting prediction: Burnley 0-1 Crystal Palace

Turf Moor has been a thorn in the side of many clubs over the years since Burnley climbed into the Premier League, and the possibility that Sean Dyche’s men frustrate Crystal Palace at the weekend is a real one. But the Eagles are a tough outfit in their own right and can call on an impressive 2-o win against Manchester City in this season’s dossier as proof that they should be considered favorites here despite the nature of the away day. Palace is also undefeated in their last six outings, including the win against City as well as a three-point haul against Wolves by the same scoreline and come into this on the back of six points from six. They should net a win here.

Burnley vs Crystal Palace: Recommended bets

Result/Both Teams to Score: Crystal Palace/No (3.3/1 odds)

This is a deceptively tricky tie to call. Palace is far and away the better outfit thus far this term, but Burnley can always be a tricky customer at Turf Moor and has won the last three meetings between the two. Still, Patrick Vieria’s Eagles have been a competitive outfit this term and they should be able to squeak a narrow win.

To Score Anytime: Conor Gallagher (4.5/1 odds)

Logic would perhaps dictate that pegging Wilfried Zaha for a goal would be wise, given he is just the sort of player that can pry a stubborn defensive unit out of it’s shape, but the possibility of Burnley focusing on keeping the Ivorian winger opens a chance for joint-top scorer Conor Gallagher to add to his four goals this season.

Burnley vs Crystal Palace: Match preview

There is little surprise that Burnley is once again struggling this season under Sean Dyche after the Clarets finished 17th in the table in 2020-21 and did little to add quality into the first-team setup.

Yes, the signing of Maxwell Cornet from Olympique Lyonnais has come off brilliantly both on and off the pitch at Turf Moor since his summer arrival, but adding Nathan Collins and Connor Roberts is not nearly enough for Burnley to arrest their struggles and it shows.

Just one win all season thus far sums up their situation entirely, and it could be said that some of the blame should certainly fall squarely on Dyche’s shoulders given the football he champions, but Burnley at least can back themselves into a preferred corner against Crystal Palace knowing that they have one each of their last three meetings against the Eagles while banking on Turf Moor playing a role for them as it has so many times before since their promotion into the Premier League.

As for Palace, their form is commendable, to say the least, and a six-match run without tasting defeat – including wins against Manchester City and Wolves, both of which were clean sheets – is a testament to the impact that Patrick Vieira has had at Selhurst Park thus far.

Certainly, the Eagles will fancy their chances against a Burnley outfit that is allergic to three-point hauls thus far and the full complement of Vieira’s attacking options are at his disposal as his outfit will look to break down a stubborn Clarets backline.

One of the in-for, sides in the Premier League, Palace are hardly free-scoring in their own right, however, despite the likes of Wilfried Zaha and Conor Gallagher being in good form. Still, they will come into this confident and rightly so.

Burnley team news vs Crystal Palace

Maxwell Cornet and Aaron Lennon are both big doubts for selection by Sean Dyche this weekend, and neither is expected to be included in the matchday XI.

Dale Stephens has returned to full training but he is not expected to feature for some time after his long absence,

Ashley Barnes is also a doubt for the weekend, and it could be a Vydra-Wood strike partnership for the clash at Turf Moor.

Crystal Palace team news vs Burnley

Patrick Vieira is set to welcome back both Joachim Andersen and Will Hughes into the fold after the international break caused a bit of anxiety for the Frenchman, especially surrounding Andersen, who is expected back in the starting XI.

Eberechi Eze is still unavailable but close to his full return, however, as is Nathan Ferguson who remains injured.
