Welcome to 101GreatGoals’ 2022 World Cup Daily Round-Up.

In this article you will find everything you need to know about the FIFA 2022 World Cup every single day of the tournament, so make sure to check back to the site on a regular basis.

Bet of the Day

England vs United States - Friday 25th 19:00

Over 4.5 England corners ☑️

Over 1.5 USA cards ☑️

England and the USA go head to head in the second match of group B with England able to all but secure qualification and the USA desperate for a result after a disappointing second half performance against Wales as they squandered a 1-0 lead.

England will be buoyant having hit Iran for 6 and they’ve got frightening attacking options throughout the squad.

England racked up 8 corners against Iran and with the pressure on them to go and win the game you’d expect them to have a few more corners here. Exciting wide men and overlapping fullbacks should be a theme of the game.

England have had 4 or more corners in 90% of their matches and 5 or more in 70%.

With the attacking prowess mentioned and how rash USA where in the tackle against wales you’d expect a few England players to be taking down here. USA picked up 4 cards in their opening game and now facing another level of competition it’s hard to see them not picking up a few again.

Referee is very strong for cards having given 5.08 cards on average in his last 87 matches.

Netherlands vs Ecuador - Friday 25th 16:00

Ecuador most cards ☑️

Over 3.5 match cards ☑️

The Netherlands and Ecuador go to battle in their second match in Group A, having both won their opening match. Both sides can pretty much secure a spot in the knockout stages with a win here so the stakes are pretty high, the losing team will be under pressure in the final game.

I like the card market here, both teams have a habit of going into the referees notebook with matches involving both teams averaging 4 cards per game. On top of that inexperienced Algerian referee Mustapha Ghorbal averages 5 cards per game and is officiating his most high profile match with two super competitive teams.

Ecuador have tended to always pick up plenty of cards and they average over 2 cards shown per game. Obviously the Dutch will hold all the aces in terms of technical ability so you’d expect the South American side to press them high and show them no respect.

Key stats & talking points

Harry Kane is set to captain England in their outing vs the USA on Friday. The 2018 Golden Boot winner headed into the tournament looking to break Gary Lineker’s record for most goals scored at a World Cup by an Englishman. Kane sits on six goals ahead of USA, with Lineker notching 10 from 12 games previously.

The USA have beaten England just twice throughout history, the last time being in 1993 in the US Cup.

Netherlands got their World Cup campaign off to a slow start vs Senegal, drawing 0-0. Should they lose to Ecuador, their spot in the last-16 could be under threat.

2022 is Wales’ second-ever World Cup, last appearing all the way back in 1958. But should they beat Iran on Friday, they have a good chance of making it out of their group.
