Which club has the most defeats in a single Premier League season?

There have been some truly awful sides in the Premier League over the years.

We are currently in the midst of the 30th Premier League campaign following its inception in 1992/93.

And now, 101GreatGoals have taken a look back at the teams who have suffered the most defeats in a single Premier League season.

First up is Ipswich Town in the 1994/95 season. Back then the Premier League was still a 42-game event, so their record is not as bad as other teams in this piece, though it is still pretty woeful.

Ipswich, of course, finished bottom of the league in 1995, losing a staggering 29 times in the process. They also conceded 93 goals and amassed just 27 points.

Next up is Sheffield United with a fairly recent entry. The Blades took the Premier League by storm in their first campaign back in the top-flight but the following year did not go as planned.

The Blades lost 29 of their 38 league outings, conceding 63 and amassing 23 points.

They finished in 20th place with a dismal 15 points to their name.

The next and final team on this list is Derby County, from their infamous 2007/08 season.

The Rams had a simply woeful campaign and bookmakers Paddy Power paid out on their relegation after just five games.

They were eventually relegated on March 29 2008 and finished out the season with 29 losses, 89 goals conceded and a record low 11 points.
