Arsenal have been linked with a move for FC Porto winger Pepe.

The Brazilian joined Porto from Gremio in June of 2021 for £13.5m and has since become a mainstay in their attack.

All told, Pepe has made 40 appearances for Porto across all competitions, scoring six and assisting five along the way.

And whilst Pepe is a natural left-sided midfielder, the 25-year-old has proven himself to be very versatile this term.

Pepe has played the majority of his games on the left-flank, but he is also comfortable on the right-wing and even the right-back spot, making him a handy squad player for any potential suitor.

And now, according to Portuguese outlet A Bola, Arsenal are interested in signing Pepe.

No potential fee is mentioned in the report, but is expected that Porto will want to profit on the transfer fee they coughed up just last year for the winger.

Nicolas Pepe on the way out?

Whilst Arsenal are being linked with one Pepe, their own Pepe looks to be heading towards the Emirates exit door.

Nicolas Pepe has struggled to replicate the form that saw the Gunners pay Lille a club-record fee for the Ivorian back in 2019 and, so far this term, Pepe has scored just one goal and provided one assist in the Premier League.

As a result, it is not too surprising to see Pepe being linked with a transfer ahead of the summer window.

The side said to be interested in the 26-year-old is Spanish outfit Sevilla, though it is hard to imagine Arsenal being able to recoup anywhere close to what they paid for Pepe several years ago.
