Lyon star Nabil Fekir is off
One of the big transfer stories broken over the weekend was the news that Nabil Fekir is leaving Lyon this summer.
This summer Fekir will be hoping to impress for France at the World Cup in Russia.
Fekir has scored 22 goals in all competitions for Lyon this season, as well as chipping in with seven assists.
On Sunday L’Equipe have confirmed that Fekir has an agreement in place with Lyon to allow him to leave the club in the off-season.
That accord was reached when Fekir penned a deal to keep him at the club until 2020.
Lyon have agreed that even if the club book a spot in next season’s Champions League, Fekir will be allowed to leave.
Chelsea are ahead of Liverpool
Will Fekir be headed to the Premier League this summer?
That’s an obvious possibility, and L’Equipe have returned on Monday with a fresh update of the leading candidates to sign Fekir.
L’Equipe place Chelsea at the front of the queue to sign Fekir in the summer. Moreover, the French paper hang a €60 million price tag around the playmaker’s neck.
Liverpool are also mentioned as a possible suitor. For the record, on Sunday night reports claiming Fekir was Anfield bound have been minimised.
For what it's worth, I'm told #LFC have not agreed a deal, or even bid, for Nabil Fekir.
Whether they will in the future, your guess is as good as mine right now, but nothing imminent as far as I am aware.
No idea on Dembele – first I'd heard was in the press conference!

A few other clubs are also mentioned in the Fekir race. There’s Arsenal, who seem to be handicapped by a lack of Champions League football next season.
Atletico Madrid are also mentioned as the Rojiblancos may sell Antoine Griezmann.
Finally, Manchester United are also name-dropped as circling around Fekir.
