Liverpool have confirmed that both Divock Origi and Loris Karius will be leaving this summer when their contracts at Anfield run out.

They, along with young duo Sheyi Ojo and Ben Woodburn, are all out of contract this summer, and will be departing Merseyside.

Of course, Origi is the man who stands out of the quartet, as the only player to have appeared for the Reds this season.

In an official statement, Liverpool announced: 'His contributions to Jürgen Klopp’s team’s Champions League triumph in 2019 have a guaranteed place in club legend' with the striker 'involved in some of the most iconic and important moments in the club’s modern history'.

Never prolific, Origi nonetheless became a cult hero for his ability to score important goals, including, as mentioned, some iconic strikes.

Karius, meanwhile, has never fully recovered from his 2018 Champions League final disaster, during which he seemingly continued despite concussion and effectively gifted Real Madrid two goals in their 3-1 win over Jurgen Klopp's side.

He has since spent the last two seasons on loan in Turkey and Germany in an attempt to rebuild his career.

Squad revamp continues

Such moves continue the Liverpool squad revamp, which has already seen Luis Diaz, Fabio Carvalho and Ibrahima Konate arrive in the last 12 months. Now, they could be ready to smash the club's transfer record to bring in Darwin Nunez amid uncertainty over Sadio Mane's future.

This is not expected to be the end of the summer business, either, with a central midfielder also on the agenda, while Calvin Ramsay is expected to join from Aberdeen to provide cover for Trent Alexander-Arnold.
