Ryan Mason is the latest man to step into the breach at troubled Premier League giants Tottenham after the north London side parted ways with replacement caretaker Cristian Stellini, parting ways with the last remnants of any connection to Antonio Conte.
The former Tottenham midfielder has the tough task of helping the club pull up their bootstraps in the wake of their embarrassing 6-1 thrashing at the hands of Newcastle United at the weekend, and face an equally difficult task in the midweek program when they welcome top-four side Manchester United to the capital and the prospect of falling away from the Champions League places by a nine-point margin.
Mason and Spurs remain without Rodrigo Bentancur for the remainder of the 2022-23 campaign, while Yves Bissouma and Emerson Royal are also out due to injury. Clément Lenglet and Ryan Sessegnon face late assessments in the wake of the Newcastle defeat, while Hugo Lloris may not be fit, but given reports of his bust-up at the club, may not have been selected regardless.
