Southampton team news and predicted XI vs Brighton

Southampton Team News

  • Out: Armel Bella-Kotchap, Romain Perraud, Mohammed Salisu, Juan Larios, Tino Livramento
  • Doubt: Ché Adams

What so many assumed would transpire while simultaneously dreading on sections of the south coast is confirmed; Southampton has been relegated from the Premier League. Amid frustrations, heartbreak, and a myriad of questions regarding what is to come for the reputable outfit, Saints now must hold their heads high for the remainder of the 2022-23 campaign while planning for the grinding Championship calendar.

Saints boss Rubén Sellés will certainly have one eye over his shoulder given the uncertainty surrounding his future at St. Mary’s Stadium, and the possibility of going out on a high note across the final two PL matches is hardly a guarantee starting this weekend when they travel the short distance to Brighton.

Sellés will be without Armel Bella-Kotchap, Romain Perraud, Mohammed Salisu, Juan Larios, and Tino Livramento for the derby clash, which should see Lyanco slot into center-back alongside Jan Bednarek on account of Armel Bella-Kotchap injury, while Ainsley Maitland-Niles should feature at left-back due to the absence of Romain Perraud. Questions surround the involvement of Ché Adams as well, which will likely see big Nigerian striker Paul Onuachu lead the line.
