A fresh insight into the ongoing managerial hunt at Premier League outfit Tottenham Hotspur has been provided on Sunday evening.

The subject of the bench at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, of course, has taken its place back centre stage in the English media headlines over the course of the day to date.

This comes after Spurs were put to the sword in nothing short of embarrassing fashion, by six goals to one, at the hands of Newcastle United.

Interim Lilywhites headmaster Cristian Stellini oversaw proceedings at St. James’ Park, albeit with the Italian set to step down from the role upon the conclusion of the campaign.

A fresh round of links with alleged managerial targets on the part of Daniel Levy and co, in turn, has swiftly followed.

And, as alluded to above, late on Sunday night, an update on the north Londoners’ stance on the potential appointment of one tactician in particular has been provided.

This comes after initial inquiries saw Brighton & Hove Albion stand firm in their hefty demands to let the Italian mastermind go:

‘But it is understood the Italian has slipped down Daniel Levy’s shortlist in recent days after Spurs made initial enquiries as to what it might take to lure De Zerbi to north London for next season.’
