Chelsea boss Frank Lampard’s latest squad update has seen the Blues’ likely XI to take on Manchester United begin to take shape.
Man United vs Chelsea
The new Premier League campaign is set to get underway at Anfield this evening, when last season’s runners-up, Liverpool, host top-flight newcomers Norwich City.
The weekend’s most high-profile showdown, though, comes in the form of Chelsea’s trip to Manchester United.
The capital outfit will of course be taking to the pitch for their first competitive outing since Frank Lampard’s appointment, without the services of now-former talisman Eden Hazard.
Fans of hosts United, meanwhile, will likely be handed the opportunity to take in the competitive debuts of both Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Harry Maguire, following the pair’s respective summer moves to Old Trafford.
Chelsea’s likely XI

First off, N’Golo Kante is labelled as ‘fit’, after recovering from the knee injury which has hampered the Frenchman since late last season.
The clash, though, looks set to come to soon for both Antonio Rudiger and Willian, though the duo nevertheless look to be inching towards respective returns to the pitch:
‘We have Kante fit, whether we have him match fit I’m not sure. Rudiger and Willian have been training, but possibly Sunday is too soon for him.’
Elsewhere, as per the Evening Standard, Christian Pulisic is in line to make his competitive Chelsea debut.
As such, the Pensioners’ line-up at Old Trafford is likely to feature Kepa between the posts, fronted by a back-four of Cesar Azpilicueta, Kurt Zouma, Andreas Christensen and Emerson, who looks set to be preferred to Marcos Alonso.
Further forward, N’Golo Kante should return, alongside Jorginho and one of Mateo Kovacic and Ross Barkley.
Lampard’s front 3, meanwhile, will see Pulisic and Pedro flank one of Olivier Giroud, Michy Batshuayi or Tammy Abraham, with the latter the most probable to spearhead the Blues’ attack at Old Trafford, having started the club’s final two pre-season outings:
