‘Outstanding’ - Arsenal star singled out for widespread praise after latest international display

A key member of the first-team setup at Premier League leaders Arsenal has come in for widespread adulation on Thursday evening, owing to his exploits on the international stage.

The player in question? Thomas Partey.

Midfielder Partey, of course, has played an absolutely starring role at club level across the season to date, central to Arsenal’s ongoing push for what would prove a historic league title.

Late on Thursday, though, the former Atletico Madrid man turned his attentions towards matters with his country, in a crunch Africa Cup of Nations qualifying meeting with Angola.

The Black Stars, for their part, went on to secure a crucial 1-0 win, breaking their deadlock with Angola atop the Group E table in the process.

And that man Partey featured from the off, shining on both sides of the ball amid a stellar all-round showing.

In turn, supporters of the Ghanaian national team have since been quick to lavish praise on their side’s engine room enforcer, widely hailing Partey - who has often been the subject of heavy criticism at international level - as the best player on the Baba Yara Stadium pitch:
