‘Mourinho masterclass’ – Roma’s stats vs Leverkusen go viral after booking Europa League final berth

The statistics racked up by AS Roma across the duration of the club’s meeting with Bayer Leverkusen have gone viral across social media late on Thursday evening.

The Giallorossi, of course, were back in action a short time ago.

Boasting a slender advantage after the first-leg in Italy’s capital, Jose Mourinho’s troops made the trip to Germany, 90 minutes away from booking their spot in the Europa League finale.

And, when all was said and done, march on to a 2nd European showpiece in two seasons is precisely what Roma went on to do.

This came owing to a goalless stalemate at the BayArena, enough to guide the evening’s visitors through on aggregate.

On the back of the action coming to a close, in turn, it should not come as a massive surprise to hear that the name of that man Mourinho has taken its place front and centre online.

All told, across the 90 minutes on Thursday, Roma racked up a grand total of one shot at goal. And even that effort failed to find the target.

Hosts Leverkusen, on the other hand, made use of their 60% possession to notch 23 shots, on their way out of Europe.
