Manchester United boss Ralf Rangnick aims dig at Tottenham

Manchester United are set to face off with Tottenham in Saturday’s late Premier League kick-off.

The tie is a huge one for both sides, with a loss likely to be very damaging in both their hunts for a top-four finish.

Manchester United were knocked off 4th spot by Arsenal on Sunday after the Gunners beat Watford and United lost to Manchester City.

The Manchester outfit are now one point behind Arsenal, but Mikel Arteta’s side do have three games in hand.

Tottenham, meanwhile, are down in 7th, but could catch Manchester United if they win their games in hand or pick up a win this weekend.

Rangnick aims dig at Tottenham

Ahead of the tie, Ralf Rangnick looks to have aimed something of a dig at Tottenham.

Speaking to the media ahead of Saturday’s game, the German stated that if all of Middlesbrough, Burnley and Wolves can beat Spurs at home, then Manchester United should be able to beat them at Old Trafford: "In all respect if Middlesbrough, Burnley and Wolverhampton can beat them [Tottenham], we can also beat them in our own stadium and this is what we have to do, this is our job tomorrow."

Rangnick’s comments do seem somewhat odd given United’s recent run of results, which has included drawing at home to Southampton, Burnley and Watford.

They, like Tottenham, were also ousted from the FA Cup by Middlesbrough, though that game was at the Riverside.
