Man City’s Champions League run
Manchester City would of course make it to their first-ever Champions League final last season, before eventually losing out to Chelsea.
The Citizens are set to get at least one more shot at European glory under Pep Guardiola this campaign, though, and have been drawn in a fairly tough group.
The Manchester powerhouse will begin their Champions League adventure next Wednesday, facing off with German outfit RB Leipzig at the Etihad.
City’s second European outing of 2021/22 will then take place at the back end of September.
Pep Guardiola and co. face a trip to PSG on September 28th, a tie which is sandwiched between away Premier League meetings with Chelsea and Liverpool.
Di Maria out of first Man City tie
This set of fixtures is no doubt set to prove a very tough test for Man City, especially with PSG now boasting arguably the best attack in world football.
Lionel Messi has joined Neymar, Kylian Mbappe and Angel Di Maria to make up an incredibly lethal attacking quartet.
However, in a boost for City, it has been revealed that one of these stars is set to miss the September 28th tie.
That man is Angel Di Maria, who has been banned for three Champions League fixtures following his sending off against the Sky Blues in the semi-finals of last season’s competition.
