Man City close deal for first January signing

Premier League champions Manchester City have, on Saturday, clinched an definitive agreement for the club’s first signing of the winter transfer window.

The player primed to imminently take his talents to the blue half of Manchester? Maximo Perrone.

Those of a City persuasion will, at this point, of course be well accustomed to the name of youngster Perrone.

This comes with the 20-year-old, long regarded as one of the finest talent in his home country of Argentina, having been pinpointed as a key target on the part of the Etihad powers that be.

Speculation, in turn, had long been rampant that Perrone was inching towards a move to England.

And now, late on Saturday, precisely that has been confirmed.

The midfielder has put pen to paper on a contract with Pep Guardiola’s troops through the summer of 2028, with an official announcement expected to arrive at some point over the days ahead.
