As for Nottingham Forest, they were sitting dead bottom of the division with just one win from 11.
So, a win for Jurgen Klopp and co. did seem very likely.
At the time of writing, it remains 0-0, but both teams have had chances.
Liverpool enjoyed success down the flanks, with Elliott and Carvalho especially dangerous for the Reds.
However, Liverpool also gifted Nottingham Forest several chances to counter due to their poor build-up.
