Leeds' defensive injury woes mount ahead of Arsenal clash

Leeds United have been dealt an altogether untimely double blow on the personnel front on Saturday evening.

Jesse Marsch's troops, of course, are currently locked in Premier League action with champions Manchester City.

Prior to the clash getting underway at Elland Road, though, concerning news stemming from the Peacocks' camp was confirmed, as captain Liam Cooper was forced to pull out of the club's starting XI owing to an alleged hamstring injury.

And Leeds' woes have not ended there.

With the half-time whistle approaching, another member of the club's backline was too forced to succumb to injury, albeit on this occasion a potentially more serious one.

The Whites star in question came in the form of Stuart Dallas, who, after a heavy challenge involving City's Jack Grealish, came off much the worse.

The 31-year-old, after being tended to by Leeds' medical team amid widespread concern on the part of those inside Elland Road, was eventually stretchered from the field of play, with his right leg in a brace.

Rodri on target

Turning attentions towards the scoreline, it is Leeds who too currently trail early in the 2nd-half of action in west Yorkshire.

This comes after Phil Foden's set-piece delivery inside the opening quarter of an hour was nodded home by the superb Rodri:

Manchester City, as a result, are currently primed to leapfrog Liverpool back to the summit of the Premier League table, on the back of the Reds' narrow victory over Newcastle earlier this afternoon.
