Kylian Mbappe clarifies PSG future after Classique downing of Marseille

The forward insists that he has ‘not asked’ for a transfer

Paris Saint-Germain standout Kylian Mbappe has, on Sunday night, moved to clarify his future.

The name of superstar Mbappe has of course found its way back into the headlines in a major way over the course of the week to date.

This comes on the back of a series of bombshell reports coming to the fore in France.

After rejecting the opportunity to depart the Parc des Princes in favour of staying put over the summer, it has been widely claimed that Mbappe has since become disillusioned with life in Paris.

Citing broken promises regarding both his role and teammates, the 23-year-old was therefore said to have set his sights firmly on a move away, potentially as early as January.

Speaking to the media on Sunday night, it therefore came as little surprise when the subject of his future was put to Mbappe himself.

After providing the assist for Neymar to slot home the only goal of a tense Classique showdown with Olympique Marseille, the Frenchman was asked directly whether he has demanded a winter transfer.

Mbappe, though, was quick to shut down any and all speculation surrounding his name, in insisting that:

“I have not asked to leave Paris Saint-Germain in January. I’m not furious with the club, it’s not true.”
