‘He’s back’ - Arsenal fans single one player out for widespread praise during Zurich clash

Supporters of Premier League giants Arsenal have taken to social media in their numbers, to single one player out for special praise.

Mikel Arteta’s troops are of course currently locked in action.

Aware that a victory is needed to hold PSV at bay and ensure the club’s table-topping status in Europa League Group A, the Gunners have welcomed Swiss outfit FC Zurich to the Emirates.

And, as things stand in north London, all three points is precisely what the evening’s hosts are headed towards.

This comes owing to a one-goal lead at the interval.

The difference-maker as things stand? Kieran Tierney.

After seeing the ball drop kindly in his path on the edge of the Zurich area with a little over a quarter of an hour on the clock, stopper Tierney showed little hesitation in driving a fine left-footed effort into the far bottom corner:

The Scot’s goal itself, though, in truth, proved only one moment of excellence in what has proven a stellar all-round individual performance thus far.

And, evidently, those of an Arsenal persuasion share such a take, droves of whom have taken to Twitter amid the action at the Emirates, to single Tierney out for special praise:

Revealed: Liverpool, Chelsea, Man City & Tottenham’s most likely Champions League Round of 16 opponents

Official: Timo Werner becomes latest star to miss Qatar World Cup
