'He's a liability' - Barcelona star slammed during Eintracht clash

Barcelona's supporters have taken to social media in numbers on Thursday evening, to reveal their frustrations with defender Eric Garcia.

Xavi Hernandez's troops are of course currently locked in action.

After keeping a fine spell of form alive courtesy of a last-gasp downing of Levante in La Liga at the weekend, the Blaugrana turned their attentions back towards matters on the continent, for the 2nd leg of their Europa League quarter-final showdown with Bundesliga outfit Eintracht Frankfurt.

Barca headed into proceedings aware that a positive result was a must, after being held to a 1-1 stalemate in Germany this day last week.

In turn, things could not have gotten off to a much worse start for the evening's hosts when Eintracht took the lead at the Camp Nou inside three minutes.

After Eric Garcia was guilty of a clumsy foul in the penalty area, a spot-kick was deservedly awarded, with Filip Kostic having made no mistake in stepping up to slot home his ensuing effort from 12 yards:

'Joke of a player'

On the back of their side's nightmare start on Thursday evening, it should therefore come as little surprise to hear of the aforementioned Garcia being singled out for altogether heavy criticism on the part of the Barcelona faithful.

Taking to Twitter in their droves, supporters of the Blaugrana have not been shy in taking aim at the free agent summer arrival at the club in ruthless fashion, with many having gone as far as to label the Spanish international a complete and utter 'liability':
