Fran Garcia’s Real Madrid return confirmed

A major update on the plans of the powers that be at Spanish champions Real Madrid for Rayo Vallecano defender Fran Garcia has been provided on Thursday evening.

Those of a Real persuasion will of course be well accustomed to the name of stopper Garcia.

This comes with the Blancos youth product having departed the Spanish capital on a permanent basis in the summer of 2021, on the back of a successful loan stint with the aforementioned Rayo.

And Garcia has since only gone on to impress, piquing attentions amongst those back at the Bernabeu.

This past summer saw it widely reported across the Spanish media that Real were interested in luring their ex-left-back back to the club, to provide cover for first-choice option Ferland Mendy.

This comes with the Champions League holders boasting a buyback clause on Garcia.

And, if word stemming from the press on Thursday is anything to go by, then it appears as though the Real hierarchy have already come to the definitive decision to make make use of this advantage.

As per transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, ‘Fran García will return to Real Madrid in the summer’.

An agreement is now in place between the respective boards at Real and Rayo, for the former to trigger their ex-defender’s buyback clause.

The move is expected to set the La Liga holders back a sum of just €5 million, with Garcia in line to pen terms at the Bernabeu through the summer of 2028.
