A head-turning statistic surrounding the efforts of Manchester United youngster Facundo Pellistri after being introduced off the bench on Thursday evening has come to the fore online.
For those who may have missed it, wide-man Pellistri was a late introduction to the fray a short time ago, as United all-but booked their spot in the quarter-finals of the Europa League.
Despite a couple of first-half scares, strikes on the part of all of Marcus Rashford, Antony, Bruno Fernandes and Wout Weghorst ultimately culminated in the Red Devils putting La Liga outfit Real Betis to the sword by four goals to one.
And it was the aforementioned Pellistri who proved creator in chief for the hosts’ 4th of the evening at Old Trafford.
Steaming down the right flank, the Uruguayan international pulled back for fellow substitute Scott McTominay, whose ensuing effort was kept out only for Weghorst to slot home on the rebound:

And, as alluded to above, such stellar efforts on Pellistri’s part have since given rise to a rather remarkable statistic.
