The 33-year-old underwent a medical in Rome this morning before the paperwork was completed, bringing an end to a wonderful spell under Pep Guardiola.
There was a clamour for De Bruyne to stay with his end-of-season displays showing he still had plenty in the tank as he provided the drive for City to finish third in the Premier League and clinch a place in next season’s Champions League.
