With Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi reaching the latter stages of their careers, a new generation of football stars are emerging.
Two players who have taken the world by storm over the last few years are Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappé.
Both players have been putting up world-class numbers and producing truly sensational performances at the highest level.
So, are these two going to be the next duo to fight for the title of the best player of their generation?
Ahead of the return of club football, Haaland has been asked that exact question and here’s what he thinks...
Haaland: “I don’t like to compare myself to others”
Haaland: “It’s impossible to say, I don’t like to compare myself to others.
“I think I’m my own, unique player, so I don’t like to compare.
“I think the media have been doing that with Ronaldo and Messi for the last 10 years.
“They have been pushing each other so it has been a positive thing.
“Barcelona vs Madrid against each other, it’s been the perfect kind of rivalry.
“But I don’t think about this honestly.”
