Chelsea supporters in fresh Roman Abramovich tribute during Southampton clash

Sections of the Chelsea contingent in attendance at the club's meeting with Southampton this afternoon made use of the opportunity to make clear once more their ongoing support for Roman Abramovich.

Russian billionaire Abramovich, of course, is imminently set to call time on his stint as owner of Chelsea, owing to sanctions placed upon the beloved Blues chief on the back of his country's invasion of neighbouring Ukraine.

For several weeks now, though, large sections of the club's fanbase have nevertheless continued to publicly back the man who brought unrivalled on-pitch success to west London.

And, as alluded to above, this afternoon, such support has piqued attentions once more.

Amid the club's Premier League showdown with Southampton, yet again, loud chants of 'Roman Abramovich' could be heard emanating from the away end at St. Mary's:

Blues run riot

Chelsea's supporters being in fine voice on Saturday, in truth, shouldn't come as all that much of a surprise.

This comes with Thomas Tuchel's troops, fresh off the back of a concerning pair of back-to-back defeats across all competitions, currently en route to a statement three-point haul.

Owing to goals on the part of all of Marcos Alonso, Mason Mount (2), Timo Werner (2) and Kai Havertz, the Pensioners are in possession of an eye-watering 6-goal lead at St. Mary's, inside the closing ten minutes of play.

The perfect warm-up for what is set to prove a potentially season-defining Champions League quarter-final 2nd-leg showdown with Spanish heavyweights Real Madrid during the week.
