Bruno Guimaraes & Alan Shearer in social media love-in after Newcastle's win over Norwich

A social media exchange on the part of Newcastle United star Bruno Guimaraes and club icon Alan Shearer will no doubt bring a smile to the faces of the Magpies faithful on Saturday evening.

Guimaraes, of course, caught the headlines once more earlier today, finding the net en route to Newcastle's downing of Norwich City at Carrow Road.

The Brazilian's goal, when it came about, proved of a typically sumptuous nature, dinked beyond the clutches of the advancing Tim Krul to cap another stellar individual display on Guimaraes' part.

And one individual who evidently took great joy in what he was seeing from the winter arrival on Tyneside on Saturday came in the form of none other than Newcastle legend Alan Shearer.

Taking to his official Twitter account, the Premier League's all-time leading goalscorer made clear his appreciation for Guimaraes' efforts courtesy of the following message:

And something of a love-in between the pair subsequently followed, the remainder of which can be seen below:

Joelinton at the double

Guimaraes' latest strike, his 3rd in three games over the course of the last week, proved the icing on the cake amid another fine afternoon's work for Newcastle on Saturday.

This came with fellow countryman Joelinton having earlier guided the Magpies into a 2-0 lead courtesy of a brace, en route to an eventual 3-0 triumph in East Anglia.

Eddie Howe and co, in turn, have now rattled off a quartet of successive wins, to climb to the dizzying heights of the top half of the Premier League table.
