'Better off playing with 9 men' - Tottenham fans slam two players after Brentford stalemate

The Tottenham Hotspur faithful have flooded to social media on Saturday evening, to take aim at a pair of the club's stars.

Antonio Conte's troops were of course back in action a short time ago.

After watching north London rivals Arsenal leapfrog them into 4th in the race for Champions League football, the Lilywhites made the trip across the capital, desperate for a three-point haul of their own in a Premier League showdown with Thomas Frank's Brentford.

When all was said and done at the Brentford Community Stadium, however, Spurs simply failed to step up to the plate.

An altogether lacklustre display ultimately saw Conte and co. forced to settle for a share of the spoils, owing to a 0-0 stalemate which actually saw the day's hosts create the better of the chances.

Tottenham, as a result, remain 5th in the Premier League table, now two points adrift of Mikel Arteta's Arsenal.

'Should be released'

On the back of the final whistle bringing proceedings in west London to a close on Saturday, it should therefore come as little surprise to hear of the Spurs faithful making their frustrations known.

On a day which could go on to prove so damaging to the club's hopes of a return to the Champions League, a whole host of the Lilywhites' stars looked some way off their best, including the likes of Harry Kane and Dejan Kulusevski.

It is another two members of Antonio Conte's ranks, however, who have been singled out for, by some distance, the most widespread criticism.

The players in question? Wing-back pair Emerson Royal and Ryan Sessegnon.
