Bernardo Silva deal explored

It is well-known now that Arsenal are looking to pursue a deal for Leicester City’s attacking midfielder James Maddison.

Arsenal are said to be in discussions with the club and have offered a number of surplus players as part of a cash-plus player deal. These however have not gone down well with the Foxes who would prefer a simple cash-only transaction.

Should a deal for Maddison not happen, The Mirror claim that Arsenal will look to Manchester City’s Bernardo Silva.

The Portuguese international has become a much less likely assured starter for Pep Guardiola after the acquisition of Jack Grealish and the development of Phil Foden. Kevin De Bruyne’s new contract means he will also be a shoo-in each game.

Could Arsenal use this to their advantage to make a deal for Silva?

Asensio link resurfaces

Arsenal’s link to Real Madrid midfielder Marco Asensio has resurfaced again this morning.

Spanish outlet El Gol Digital have suggested that Athletic Club, who are also interested in the Spaniard, are concerned at the commitment from Arsenal and Mikel Arteta to secure Asensio and rival them for his signature.

The English club insists on having the Mallorcan at the explicit request of Mikel Arteta.

Asensio can play as both a 10 and as a wide playmaker and would add much-needed creativity to Arsenal.

However, the links with Maddison mean that Asensio is likely an alternative option further down their list of targets.

Willock & Nketiah could bring in vital funds

Arsenal are in desperate need to raise additional funds this window and would have expected to sell a few more players that have currently been able to move on so far.

Eddie Nketiah and Joe Willock are two players whose futures are uncertain at this point in time.

The latter has recently suffered a 4-week injury but could still leave the club before the end of the window in just over 3 weeks time.

Brighton are reportedly an interested party and could look to pay a sizeable figure having made a lot from the sale of Ben White to the Gunners.

Meanwhile, Joe Willock continues to be linked with a move to Newcastle and the two clubs are in persistent talks with Steve Bruce reiterating that they want him.
