With Bernd Leno now at Fulham, Turner is playing back-up to Aaron Ramsdale, who ousted the German from his starting berth last summer after just three league games.
Whilst that has not happened with Turner, he is expected to see plenty of minutes across the cup competitions this season.
The American was handed his first competitive start for Arsenal in the Europa League on September 9th vs Zurich, conceding one as Arsenal ran out 2-1 winners.
Turner would then have likely featured in Arsenal’s following Europa League clash, but it was postponed due to the Queen’s funeral.
Now, Turner has been discussing Mikel Arteta and revealed why the Spaniard shoved him in training on one occasion:
“We were playing a small possession game and it was really, really tight… I tried to make a pass and I gave the ball away. I sort of visually got frustrated and upset and Arteta just came up to me and shoved me,” Turner said.
“He was basically like, ‘I don’t want to see that. I don’t like seeing that reaction. I want to see you pick yourself up and keep going.’”
