One of MLS' greatest rivalries is back with the milestone 50th Texas Derby, first staged 16 years ago.

FC Dallas claimed three consecutive El Capitán mountain howitzers, before Houston Dynamo levelled the series at 8-8 last year.

Back in April, Facundo Quignon's 93rd minute winner completed a remarkable turnaround for Dallas, hoping for more of the same on the road.

Of the two, it's the Burn who are higher in the Western Conference, sat fifth, last finishing that high in 2018.

Last weekend, Nico Estévez's team were held to a 1-1 draw by Inter Miami at Toyota Stadium; Alan Velasco bending home a magnificent free-kick.

This means Dallas have scored three direct free-kick goals this season, two for Velasco; their record in a season is four, achieved eight years ago.

However, they have actually only won one of their last seven, despite being unbeaten in nine before this.

Houston Dynamo meantime are down in 11th, looking to avoid a fourth consecutive Texas Derby having also been beaten by Austin FC in April.

More recently, el Naranja lost 2-1 to Charlotte FC at PNC Stadium last weekend; Fafà Picault unable to spark a comeback.

So, Paulo Nagamura's team have lost four of their last five, derailing their play-off aspirations.
