Liverpool

Liverpool have been handed a tough start as they look to defend the Premier League crown they claimed so impressively under Arne Slot last season.

The Merseysiders open the season at home to Bournemouth on Friday, August 15 before a run of four difficult fixtures that sees them visit Newcastle, host Arsenal, go to Burnley and meet neighbours Everton.

Liverpool, who are expected to complete the club-record signing of Bayer Leverkusen forward Florian Wirtz this week, also have to visit Chelsea and host Manchester United before October is out.

The first of two clashes with title rivals Manchester City, who will look to regain the trophy they relinquished last season, comes on November 8 with the return at Anfield on February 7.

Liverpool visit the Emirates to take on Arsenal on January 7.

The Gunners, who finished runners-up for the third successive year last season, open their campaign with a mouthwatering game at Manchester United.

They then host newly-promoted Leeds before going to Anfield.

Mikel Arteta and Pep Guardiola are reunited on September 20 with the return game at the Etihad on April 18.

The first North London derby of the season against Tottenham comes on November 22 and the rivals clash again on February 21.

Local bragging rights in Manchester will be contested on September 13 at Old Trafford and January 17 at the Etihad.
