Jadon Sancho expressed his gratitude to Chelsea following the end of his spell at Stamford Bridge after the club decided against making his loan move from Manchester United permanent.
Sancho’s loan from Old Trafford featured a Β£25million obligation for Chelsea to sign him on a permanent basis.
However, instead of exercising that obligation, Chelsea instead elected to pay a Β£5m penalty fee to United to end Sancho’s brief spell with Enzo Maresca’s men.
Sancho scored five goals and provided nine assists in 41 appearances for Chelsea in 2024-25.
While one of those goals came in the Conference League final as Chelsea completed the set of European trophies with a 4-1 win over Real Betis, that output was clearly far from enough for the club to justify paying the fee attached to the obligation.
But Sancho made it clear there are no hard feelings following Chelsea’s decision to send him back to Old Trafford.
“Grateful for the experience,” Sancho wrote in a post on Instagram. “Big love to everyone at Chelsea who made be feel at home – team-mates, staff, and the fans.
“Wishing the club all the best moving forward. Truly grateful, thank you Blues.”
