Aston Villa have revealed redevelopment plans which will aim to significantly increase the capacity of Villa Park through a major upgrade to the North Stand.
The club confirmed that the North Stand will undergo a complete transformation, boosting its current seating from approximately 5,000 to 12,000.
Alongside minor improvements to the other three stands, the expansion will take the stadiumβs total capacity beyond the 50,000 mark, up from its current figure of 42,918.
More importantly for supporters, Aston Villa have confirmed that there will be no reduction in matchday capacity throughout the construction phase.
The redevelopment is projected to be completed by the latter half of 2027.
“Aston Villa fans have been electrifying Villa Park for generations, charging the atmosphere with unrivalled intensity at every home match for more than 125 years,”Β said Chris Heck, the clubβs president of business operations.

“Thanks to the hard work and collaboration of an exceptional team, we will now be able to offer this incredible experience to thousands more, all while meeting the key challenge of executing this project without compromising matchday capacity during the process.”
Earlier plans had considered demolishing the North Stand entirely, which would have temporarily reduced capacity to around 36,000. However, those plans were later revised to maintain seating levels throughout the works.
The upgrade comes as Villa Park prepares to serve as one of the host venues for Euro 2028, which is set to take place across the UK and Ireland.
