Ousmane Dembele has been named Ligue 1 Player of the Year, and credited his remarkable season to being played in the centre of a three-man attack.
Paris Saint-Germain almost swept the board at the honours evening with Dembeleβs strike partner Desire Doue named best young player while Luis Enrique was awarded best coach.
One of Luis Enriqueβs tactical switches this year was to move Dembele inside from wide on the right and it has reaped its rewards with the former Barcelona man contributing 33 goals and 13 assists in all competitions.
That has helped PSG to win Ligue 1 while they are also in the final of the Coupe de France and Champions League.

“I always try to perform well on the pitch and to make a difference, and I’ve been rewarded for that this season. This is an honour, and it’s thanks to the club, to my teammates and to the coaching staff. They’ve given me the best possible conditions since I joined Paris Saint-Germain.
“We’ve got three weeks left, and I hope that we win as many titles as possible. I wish the best for Paris Saint-Germain because it’s a club that deserves to win those two trophies.β
