Betting tip prediction: Croatia 0-1 Czech Republic

Czech Republic will be full of confidence going into Friday’s game and will be looking to secure a spot in the knockout phase before their tough clash against England.

Three of Croatia’s last six games have been 1-0 defeats. Also, Croatia have only won two of their last ten matches.

Croatia lost to England in their opening match, but another defeat on Friday would not necessarily spell the end of the road in this competition, as a third-placed finish would still be possible.

At Euro 2020, the four best third-placed teams from the six groups will also advance to the knockout stage of the competition.

Recommended Croatia vs Czech Republic betting tips

Patrik Schick to score first. Schick was the Czech Republic’s leading goalscorer in qualifying and will be full of confidence following his spectacular brace on matchday 1.

Under 2.5 goals. Five of Croatia’s last six matches have produced under three goals. Zlatko Dalic’s side have scored just one goal in their last three matches.

Croatia vs Czech Republic betting tips: Match preview

Matchday two of Euro 2020 sees Croatia take on the Czech Republic in Glasgow on Friday night.

Croatia lost 1-0 in their Group D opener against England last Sunday. A cagey affair, both sides had a similar number of attempts and even possession – but Raheem Sterling’s second-half goal was the difference on the day.

Croatia made it to the round of 16 at Euro 2016. Croatia have twice made it to the quarter-final stage at a European Championship, back in 2008 and 1996, but they’d do well to replicate that this year.

Patrik Schick stole the show in Czech Republic’s opener against Scotland. The Bayer Leverkusen forward scored twice for the Czechs, either side of halftime, including an audacious halfway-line cracker that will surely go on to win goal of the tournament.

Another win for Jaroslav Silhavy’s side on Friday would see them join the likes of Italy in the knockout phase of the competition.

There are a couple of club connections between the two teams. Andrej Kramaric and Pavel Kaderabek are teammates at Hoffenheim, while Josip Juranovic and Tomas Pekhart both play for Legia Warsaw in Poland.

Croatia and the Czech Republic have only met on three previous occasions. The most recent meeting between the two sides ended in a 2-2 draw during the group phase at Euro 2016.

Goals from Ivan Perisic and Ivan Rakitic had Croatia 2-0 up before late goals from Milan Skoda and Tomas Necid secured a point for the Czechs.

Croatia ended the group phase as winners of Group D, above Spain. Czech Republic finished bottom of the group.

Croatia’s final group game takes place on Tuesday evening against Scotland in Glasgow, while the Czech Republic face England at Wembley. Both matches will kick-off simultaneously.

Croatia team news vs Czech Republic

Croatia failed to pose much of a goal threat in their opening match, so Bruno Petkovic could come into the starting eleven.

Nikola Vlasic could replace Mateo Kovacic in midfield, despite the Chelsea midfielder’s solid display against England.

Borna Barisic was unavailable for the game against England and has been ruled out again for Friday night.

Czech Republic team news vs Croatia

Tomas Kalas and Ondrej Ceulstka shoudl continue at centre-back.

Lukas Provod is unavailable for Czech Republic.
