Liverpool v Arsenal match preview

Premier League champions Liverpool can put a further dent in Arsenal’s season when the top two meet at Anfield.

Arsenal’s fine Champions League run came to an end in Paris in midweek and after losing to Bournemouth last time out the Gunners are in danger of being overhauled for second spot in the league.

The Gunners are just three points ahead of Manchester City – and four of both Newcastle and Chelsea – going into the weekend.

Liverpool are unbeaten in their last 14 home games against Arsenal in all competitions since a 2-0 loss in the Premier League in September 2012.

Liverpool v Arsenal team news

Arne Slot made changes for last weekend’s trip to Chelsea and saw his second-string side well beaten.

Right-back Conor Bradley is fit and will start with fellow defender Joe Gomez (hamstring) now the only absentee.

“Conor will start on Sunday as he needs playing time to get games under his belt to be better prepared for next season,” Slot said, after the news of Trent Alexander-Arnold’s exit was confirmed this week.

Arsenal have no new injury concerns and saw defender Riccardo Calafiori return as a substitute in midweek.

Jurrien Timber was replaced in Paris but is not expected to miss out.
