FA Cup final: Crystal Palace v Manchester City match preview

Manchester City’s faltering season has a chance of silverware as they take part in their third straight FA Cup final, against Crystal Palace this time around.

City lost last year’s showpiece to rivals Manchester United, a fate that Palace have suffered in both of their previous final visits to Wembley.

After defeat in 1990 and 2016, is this the year the Eagles win their first major trophy?

It promises to be an entertaining game, as both teams have scored 2+ goals in each of the last four meetings, with two 2-2 draws, and 4-2 and 5-2 victories for the Citizens.

Extra time anyone?

City are still without the injured Rodri, Nathan Ake, Oscar Bobb and John Stones.

Kevin de Bruyne is expected to start his fourth FA Cup final for City while Nico O’Reilly could play again at left-back after shining in the cup this season.

FA Cup final prediction

City’s up and down season saw them put in a limp performance at relegated Southampton last week but the chance of a trophy should be enough to rouse them. If they score first they can control the game but we are backing an Eze-inspired Palace to come through and win it.

Palace 2-1 City
