Manchester City head coach Pep Guardiola has, late on Friday, provided an update on the wellbeing of Kevin De Bruyne.
This comes, for those who may have missed it, on the back of City’s Premier League opener, against Burnley.
En route to an eventual 3-0 triumph, De Bruyne set pulses racing across the Sky Blues’ fanbase.
Early in proceedings at Turf Moor, the Belgian international pulled up out of the blue, quickly clutching at his hamstring.
After being tended to by the visitors’ medical team, it was subsequently decided that KDB was in no condition to continue, with summer arrival Mateo Kovacic introduced in his place.

Speaking to the media on the back of his side’s comfortable three-point haul, Pep Guardiola, in turn, was inevitably asked for the latest on the situation of his midfield conductor.
This comes with the 32-year-old having reaggravated the hamstring injury suffered in June’s Champions League final downing of Inter Milan:
‘“He was injured again unfortunately. Same place and position as the Champions League final.”
