Barcelona v Racing Santander La Liga preview

Barcelona will look to maintain their excellent start to the season when they welcome Racing de Santander to Camp Nou on Wednesday.

Hansi Flick’s side sit top of La Liga with 15 points from five matches, while Racing have made a positive return to the division and currently occupy 10th with seven points.

Barcelona have won all five of their La Liga matches this season, scoring 21 goals.

The two teams have met 101 times in all competitions, with Barcelona winning 63 of those fixtures compared to Racing’s 17.

Racing have not beaten Barcelona since January 2004, while the Catalan side have won each of the last eight meetings between the clubs.

The visitors have enjoyed an encouraging return to the top flight after winning the Segunda Division last season.

Jose Alberto Lopez’s team defeated Alaves 2-1 last time out, taking their record to two wins, one draw and two defeats from five matches.

Barcelona v Santander confirmed La Liga team news

Barcelona remain without Frenkie de Jong and Roony Bardghji, who are both recovering from knee injuries.

Gerard Martin was substituted at half-time against Levante after suffering a cut to his face. He is expected to be available, although Flick could choose to rest him, with Andreas Christensen potentially moving into the starting XI.

Racing will be without Simon Eriksson, Andres Martin and suspended midfielder Andre Almeida.

Lopez could name an unchanged team following the win over Alaves, with experienced midfielder Sergio Canales again expected to feature.

Barcelona's attacking strength should prove too much for Racing, although the visitors have shown enough in front of goal to cause problems at the other end
