LIVE – Manchester City v Arsenal: Commentary, updates, goals and stats for crunch title encounter
Manchester City host Arsenal this afternoon. Follow all the action from the Etihad with our live commentary...
Manchester City host Arsenal this afternoon in a game that could have a huge bearing on the outcome of this season’s Premier League title race.
Arsenal have a six-point lead at the summit but are woefully out of form. Second-placed City have a game in hand and know a win at the Etihad will put them on the brink of pulling level with the Gunners.
City boss Pep Guardiola said in his pre-match press conference that the title race would be over if Arsenal claimed victory, though that is not an assessment his opposite number Mikel Arteta necessarily shares.
“I don’t know, there are six games to go, it is a really important one for both teams,” the Spaniard responded when Guardiola’s view was put to him.
“It will incline the balance a little bit but winning a game in the Premier League is so tough for everybody. After this one there are some very tough matches for all of us and we will have to wait and continue whatever happens.”
