Man City & Man United the favourites

Chelsea and Leicester City are the two previous Premier League Champions but not many of the BBC Sport pundits think either of those two clubs are likely to replicate their success.

33 pundits gave their predictions for the top four and only one of them believes Leicester City can even finish in the top four despite last season’s heroics.

18 of the 33 pundits (55%) are backing Manchester City to win the title under Pep Guardiola whilst 12 pundits (36%) think Jose Mourinho can do it in his first season at Manchester United.

No faith in Wenger

It’s been a while since Arsenal were last Champions of England and – despite finishing 2nd last season – not one of the 33 pundits think Arsene Wenger can bring glory back to North London.

15 of the 33 BBC Sport pundits don’t even think Arsenal will make the top 4 – something they’ve failed to achieve in 20 years!

Surprisingly, only three pundits think Chelsea can win the league and retired Tottenham midfielder Chris Waddle is the only pundit backing Spurs for glory.

Of last season’s top three – who were head and shoulders above the rest – only one pundit thinks any of Leicester, Arsenal and Spurs can win the title.
