Spain vs Morocco betting tips: World Cup match preview & predictions

Spain vs Morocco 101 Great Goals prediction: Spain 2-0 Morocco

It hasn’t been plain sailing for Spain in their Group B campaign but they should have enough in the tank to beat Morocco and progress to the knockout phase.

The Spaniards looked good in their clash with Portugal, albeit conceding three goals and eventually drawing the game.

They then stumbled to a win over Iran but could still be knocked out of the competition if they lost to Morocco and Iran beat Portugal.

Safe to say, Spain will be fully focussed for this affair.

Spain vs Morocco: Who will win?

Spain will obviously go into the game as favourites, with odds of 4/11 at bet365.

Meanwhile, Morocco are way out in the betting odds and can be picked up at 10/1.

Unless you feel very confident in Morocco’s ability to pull off possibly the shock of the tournament, it’s best to stay away from the outright betting.

Spain to win the game 2-0 is priced at 5/1 which isn’t great but not the worst either.

It mainly falls down to which Spain player you expect to score first, with Diego Costa, Iago Aspas and Rodrigo top of the first goalscorer market.

Only one of them can start and that is likely to be Diego Costa who you can get at odds of 7/2 to score first.

Diego Costa to score first and Spain to win 2-0 is decently priced at 14/1.

Spain vs Morocco match preview

Spain have not had it all their way in the World Cup so far.

They started their campaign on the end of a Cristiano Ronaldo hat-trick but actually received some plaudits from the game.

At times in that game, the fast free-flowing passing football that Spain have become so well known for was sublime.

That lead to them going from 2-1 down to 3-2 up within 10 minutes of the first goal.

It was only a touch of class from Ronaldo in the final minutes of the game which meant they would not take home all three points.

Their next game came against Iran and Spain were expected to assert their dominance and win comfortably.

That was not to be the case though, as they struggled against a stubborn Iran side and were very lucky to win the game.

A very fortunate Diego Costa goal in which the ball deflected in off the striker proved the difference but it was far from vintage.

Now, they will be expected to show that assertive performance in the game against Morocco.

Morocco: Whipping boys

Unfortunately for Morocco, it just hasn’t gone their way in the World Cup.

They have already been sent home after another Cristiano Ronaldo goal saw them lose 1-0 to Portugal.

They also lost to Iran in the first matchday, losing to a very late own goal.

With nothing to play for they are very much expected to just roll over and against a side like Spain, it could be as one-sided of a game you will see this World Cup.

Spain team news vs Morocco

Thankfully for Fernando Hierro, there are no fresh injury worries.

Dani Carvajal was the only man who has had an injury during the World Cup. The Real Madrid man has since recovered and played in their win over Iran.

Carvajal will be expected to start as well as most of the usual cast.

Morocco team news vs Spain

Similarly to Spain, the side have no fresh injuries and are now playing for pride.

Going through a World Cup without a single point, or goal, is not great and you can ensure the side will do all they can against Spain.
