Robert Lewandowski

Poland vs Colombia betting tips: World Cup match preview & predictions

Poland vs Colombia 101 Great Goals prediction: Poland 1-1 Colombia

Both sides have started their World Cup campaigns without a win but have also got the quality in attack to ensure this is an interesting clash.

While Poland lost their first game to Senegal in a shock performance, players like Robert Lewandowski will not be kept down for too long.

Likewise, Ramadel Falcao will be looking to get his World Cup started, better late than never.

Poland vs Colombia: Who will win?

Colombia go into the game as 13/10 favourites after their showing against Japan where they were a man down after just three minutes.

Poland, on the other hand, go into the game at 12/5 and represent a pretty decent price but their performance against Senegal has left people unconvinced about their ability to win at the World Cup.

That means we turn our attention to the goalscorers market and it’s an interesting battle between Lewandowski and Falcao.

The former to score first is the favourite at odds of 7/2 while Colombian hitman Falcao trails just behind at odds of 4/1.

Poland vs Colombia match preview

Poland went into this World Cup with some high hopes of getting out of their group.

The side impressed in the European Championships back in 2016 and went as far as the quarter finals before being knocked out by eventual winners Portugal on penalties.

Robert Lewandowski also scored an impressive 16 goals in the qualifiers, one more than four-goal Cristiano Ronaldo.

With that in mind, you can never doubt him and Poland getting a goal.

While Colombia don’t rely on one player like Poland do, they do have a well-rounded team with some outstanding talents.

James Rodriguez is the man that obviously makes the country tick but Radamel Falcao is equally as impressive.

Juan Cuadrado’s influence can also not be understated and the diminutive playmaker bagged a fine free-kick versus Japan.

Also at the back they have two decently reliable players in Barcelona’s Yerry Mina and Valencia’s Jeison Murillo.

It will be interesting to see how they both attempt to deal with the threat that is Robert Lewandowski.

It certainly seems as though this one is going to be a close affair especially due to the pressure on both sides after respective defeats in their openers.

Colombia team news vs Poland

While James Rodriguez started the game against Japan from the bench, he could be ready to start the game this time around.

Carlos Sanchez was sent off in the game against Japan so will obviously not be allowed to feature.

Poland team news vs Colombia

There are no injury problems for Poland but there could be changes after their performance against Senegal.

Arkadiusz Milik was one of the players that were heavily criticised for their performances but Poland don’t really have anyone to replace him.

While manager Adam Nawalka is likely disappointed with his squad, a change to a 3-5-2 and substitutions didn’t help Poland all that much.

That could lead Nawalka to stick with the same formation and same squad in the hopes of them getting it right this time.
